Gretna Glen employs around 42 young adults during the summer to serve as camp summer staff. The summer staffers serve crucial roles to make the ministries of camp happen, often filling several different roles throughout their stay. Gretna Glen seeks out the best summer staff from area colleges and the local church community. Staff and volunteers go through applications, interviews, background, and reference checks before being invited onto staff. A week long training that extensively covers how to keep campers safe and supervised in all of our activities is mandatory for all summer staffers. Summer staff partner with full time staff and volunteers to fill roles in food service, maintenance, activity facilitation and supervision, lifeguarding and counseling.
