Summer Camp at Gretna Glen

Be assured that the safety of Gretna Glen summer campers and guests is something we take seriously. In order to provide a “Safe Sanctuary,” we carefully select staff members and volunteers through an application process that requires references, background checks, and child abuse clearances. Staff and Volunteers are trained before working with campers. Our campsite is accredited by the American Camp Association. To earn accreditation, Gretna Glen complies with more than 300 health, safety and program quality standards. We are also members of the Christian Camp and Conference Association.

Our goals for your camper while they are here:
Seek God’s guidance in their lives
Experience a healthy Christian community
Reach for new adventures
Value themselves and the world around them
Experience age appropriate responsibilities

Camping Program Opportunities

Day Camps

For ages 4-completed 5th grade
Day Camp at Gretna Glen is a wonderful way for kids to explore nature, make new friends, and learn about Christ’s love! Each week of day camp has a different theme & new lessons; so pick one, two, or more weeks and make Gretna Glen the foundation of your child’s summer. The Village serves as the day camp hub and includes group shelters, a large pavilion, campfire sites, restrooms, and plenty of room to run around. Day campers are dropped off at the Funk Center in the morning and taken back and forth from the Village by a wagon ride. Day campers will be divided into family groups by age/grade so that activities for each group can be adjusted to be age appropriate. A hot lunch, two snacks and plenty of fluids are prepared by our kitchen staff and served on our new dining hall deck. Our highly trained day camp staff spends the entire week leading a small group so that they can better understand the needs of each camper. Although each week of camp has a different theme and Bible lessons, there is a standard schedule that ensures all campers will experience the great things about camp each week like boating, swimming and fishing. Day Camp hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00-4:00. Extended Day hours are available for morning drop off between 7:30 am and 8:45 am and at the end of the day from 4:00 pm until pick up at 5:30 pm. Please register with the ID that includes an 'E' at the end of the day camp event ID. Extended Day Cost: $50.00 per week
