Discover Your Treasure
Summer 2012 will follow the Discover your Treasure theme where campers will learn about the parables of Jesus and what the stories mean for our lives today.
- Discovery 1 is the parable of the Sower, Mark 4:1-9, 13-20 and will introduce campers to how parables were used in Jesus' time and how to receive them today.
- Discovery 2 is the parable of the friend in need, Luke 11:5-10. Campers will learn how we both need love and grace and need to show love and grace to others.
- Discovery 3 teaches God's grace is not determined by anything we do through the parable of the workers in the vineyard, Matthew 20:1-16.
- Discovery 4 teaches how God is our foundation through the story of the wise and foolish builder, Matthew 7:24-27.
- Discovery 5 teaches us God is with those in need from Matthew 25:31-40.
- Discovery 6 teaches that God will use even our smallest acts to grow the kingdom through the parable of the mustard seed in Matthew 13:31-35.
